7 Months!

No worries we have now purchased our apartment safety kit. Our place has to be BABY PROOF since we have a crawling (army crawling) baby. Trust don't let the army crawl fool you, she can get around just as fast and maybe even sneakier than a normal crawl. She is so eager to get up and walk but not strong enough, so she's had her falls. Like always her smiles are constant and is constantly alert to her surroundings. Nothing escapes her from the people at the grocery store to mom getting a bite of food. I love our little girl and she just loves her cuddles and kisses. We are so filled with joy as we watch her grow and learn more and more every day. She is 7 months today woohoo!

First Camping Trip!

First camping trip for Catherine and she loved it. She loves just staring at the trees and being outside. We camped with Grandma and Grandpa Hall and had so much fun. They had their camper we had our tent because Catherine didn't like to be in the camper and she slept so good in the tent. We had yummy dutch over meals and breakfast and of course SMORES! I love smores so we had to have them.

I love this article and wanted to share it with all the moms. There is no right or wrong way to feed your baby. For all moms and babies feeding is a way for bonding which ever way you choose to do it.
After reading this article i decided to share my own photo  because I SUPPORT YOU!

She's is 6  months old and still going strong.
What matters is that she is fed, happy and now napping.

Diaper Disaster!

Here is a question for you moms. What's the worse diaper disaster that you've had to encounter with your babies? What's the different places you've changed a diaper? Here is mine today!
Though this might be a bit too much info for some of you, I think most parents can handle it. So Catherine had not had a bowel movement for three days and it started to worry me. But the end of my worries was soon here, at the grocery store, and it wasn't pretty. As I start to check out I notice the big orange spot on the back of her shirt and the awful smell, yup diaper disaster!  I actually caught the register guy looking at it, you can even see his nostrils flaring from the smell. the bathroom was not an option there were two mamas in there already. the car was my only alternative. the only problem was how to change her with out causing a mess. Once I was about to get her out of the shopping cart it all started to come out from the top of her shirt. It was a mess! So I pulled out the changing pad lots of grocery bags and laid her in the seat. After a few comments and ugly stares from people thirty minutes later I was done! Successfully done that is, call me super mom if you will because with my wiggly baby it all could've gone south. So what's your story with Diaper Disaster?

Keep in mind that this is before it all got worse!

Skirts!

So a while back I made these with of course some instruction and help of a friend. I'm still in the process of making my third one. I also made a really cute one for my sister-in law who left on an LDS mission 6 months ago hers I made a bit longer since it was required, but it turned out amazing. I love making these because there is so much you can do with them and get really creative. If you are interested I'd love to make you one email me or comment and we can set something up. The skirt can be the color, design, and length you desire. These are great skirts specially for sister missionaries who are having a hard time shopping for skirts.

      These were my first two.

The pattern for the one I am making right now.

And this is the adorable skirt for my sister-in law. I love the fabric she chose.

Summer sunflower

Another really cute and really easy dyi craft. This one again inspired by my mother and sister-in law, and i give them all the credit because they are awesome at coming up with all these fun crafts. This time they came up with a wooden sunflower to hang on our door for summer time. The picture has numbers on it according to the steps if you have questions just leave a comment or email.

1. Cut out your flower petals and center as big or small as you want your flower.

2. Paint your petals. One coat is enough if you want fast dry and a rustic look. With brown paint you can add more depth and brush the edges, again for a more rustic look.

3. Paint the center brown. You can leave it all brown or add yellow for depth really it's up to you, be creative.

4.glue the edges of the petals together and then the center to the petals. I used glue for wood . (I can't remember the name but I can look it up)

5. Let it dry over night, and then drill a hole in one petal skip a petal and drill another hole. The holes will allow you to  put some wire through the flower to hold it up. You can use thin green wire to hang the sunflower.

Dyi project! - Calendar block

Calendar Block Specifics

Wood: 4x4 posts, cut into 2 square blocks, 2x4--7 inches
Number Placement: Block 1--0,1,2,3,4,5
Block 2--0,1,2,6,7,8 (6 doubles as the 9, so make sure you put it on non-directional paper)
Paint your blocks, mod podge desired paper, sand and distress block edges, add numbers!

Make sure to clean the blocks with a cloth after sanding.

Paint your blocks with the color you desire, and let them dry.

While the blocks dry print your months and cut them. You can be more creative and use cutout letters or stencils.

After your paint has dried cut out from construction paper squares to fit your blocks. I used three colors cutting out two squares of each color for each block.
Mod podge the paper to the blocks and then the blocks. You can use matte or glossy mod podge. I used glossy on mine. I used paint and stencil to paint the numbers on but you can do cut outs. Make sure to put the numbers on before you mod podge the blocks.

I used magnet to hold the months on the bottom block. I cut the magnet according to the size of the months.

Make sure to also stick a magnet on the bottom block so that the months will hold.

And here is the finish product! I hope you have as much fun as I did making your own. Let me know how yours turns out and what you would do different. Also don't forget to send me pictures of your finish products.

“Who says it has to be itsy bitsy?”

Ladies here is a clip for those wondering "can we bring modesty back"
"...within the construct of modesty, there is a freedom—that modesty isn't about covering up what's bad, but about revealing dignity. ..." By Jessica Rey
I really enjoyed watching this video. And would recommend all moms and young girls to watch it.
"We were made beautiful in his image and likeness", this really is such a true and beautiful statement. I could not agree more.

Our holiday weekend!!!

Where to start! Ok we'll first it was a wonderful Fourth of July! :) Catherine and I got our cute matching outfits to start the day! Tyler went on a long bike ride up cottonwood canyon which he loves doing so much. He golfed and I crafted all afternoon making the cutest block calendars. We cuddled, watched movies and tv, went home and got a glimpse of the fireworks from home. Catherine was tired and decided to go to bed. The rest of our weekend followed with a great lunch at sweet tomatoes some, shopping, and pooool time! Yeah I love the pool. Today we had more pool time and movie time with treats. It has been a wonderful weekend and I loved spending every minute of it with my two loves. Tomorrow is Sunday and the Halls love Sunday. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband! I feel blessed to live in this country and I am grateful for our loving Heavenly Father.

Lehi Grand Parade!

It was so much fun to have an all girl's lehi parade trip! :) Catherine enjoyed the beginning and end of the parade, since she took a cat nap in the middle. It was so hot that we were both sweaty messes. This might become a new tradition for the Halls with daddy too, and of course adding the rodeo to the tradition.

Photography!

Some of you might now that I love taking pictures and some of you might not. I started when i was in Jr. High and have loved it since then. A dream of mine was to photograph for National Geographic which is probably not going to happen, but i do love taking pictures of family, friends, babies. I enjoy capturing moments and keeping memories. Before I had my baby I took some pictures here and there for friends and family. I also enjoyed going up to AF canyon and other places to take pictures. After i had Catherine I took a break from photography. I am starting again and would love to take pictures for those of you who want to capture those family moments. I do all kinds of photography and mostly do it for fun, price is very reasonable! Here is some of my work. e-mail me: catalinaaragon90@gmail.com if you are interested.
